2020 6MT Crosstrek
I didn’t necessarily have any plans for the car when I bought it, but as I drove it every day and noticed the things I wanted to improve, the vision began to emerge: a next-gen performance hatchback that I knew Subaru would never give us. I began making modifications to mold the Crosstrek into the form of my vision, and as it sits now, I feel the only thing missing is the performance to match its looks.
Leveraging the versatility of the Subaru Global Platform, I plan to pursue a full swap using a VB WRX, which would entail swapping in the WRX's FA24 & its mated transmission, both front/rear subframes and suspension, as well as the full interior and all the electronics, to essentially create a VB WRX hatchback. I have begun preliminary steps for the swap, comparing the subframes of my car and Mach V Performance's VB WRX. Talking with the awesome folks at Mach V, it seems like there is a good chance that the swap is possible.
It's an extremely ambitious project that would be the first of it's kind, and I am eager to create what in my eyes would be the ultimate Crosstrek.
